Ira Glass on Storytelling

Here are four very interesting YouTube videos by Ira Glass (1959- ) on Storytelling. These 4 parts contain some honest and frank critique of himself including a sample of his work at year 8th (yes, 8 year into his career) which he basically trashed! Ira Glass on Storytelling 1 [//Part 1, The Building Blocks of a Good Story. Although this series is not geared towards photojournalism and documentary photography, the lessons are universal and can be applied to any medium.//]]

Ira Glass on Storytelling 2 [//Part 2, How hard it is to find decent stories and abandon crap. This episode focuses on how much time it takes to look for and find interesting stories. It also focuses on when to throw away crap and move on…a very important lesson.//]

Ira Glass on Storytelling 3 [//Part 3, On good taste and falling short. This is a wonderful episode on how we all go through phases where we know our work is not up to par, even though we are trying so hard to make it perfect. Keep doing your work, keep focused and dont give up!//]
