Warren Buffett – Net buyer of hamburgers

Warren Buffett likes to say, if you are a net buyer of hamburgers over your life time, you would love to see the prices of hamburgers drop. And my friend, with almost everything in the stock market dropping like a stone yesterday, many hamburgers got cheap, some unreasonably cheap.

Paraphrasing or quoting Warren,

  • In the short run, the stock market is voting machine, but in the long run, it is a weighing machine.
  • If you are loosing sleep over the stock market ups, may be you are taking too much risk?
  • Are you an Inner Scorecard or Outer Scorecard kind of person?

If you like, check out my review/best of “The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life”. According to CNBC, Alice Schroeder, author of Snowball, will be interviewed on Power Lunch today (Sept 30, 2008) at around 1pm EST.

P.S. As an aside, the non-market deals that Buffett can arrange is nothing short of spectacular, I think.
