Goodbye Bob Edmonds

Bob Edmonds, known to some Canadians as the brave and determined man who launched a legal battle that exposed the problems within Ontario’s lottery agency, died Monday at 83.

It is so sad that Bob had to fight a corrupt system so badly for so long and he didn’t even get a chance to read the letter of apology from the government-owned Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation before he passed away.

Bob, in your small way, you stood up to the giant and defeated it. And the system will get its deserved reform as a result of your battle. Here is a favourite Norman Rockwell painting that I like to put up in memory of your passing. We need more of you in Canada.
