WILD ROSES – Cool new CBC drama

Just finished watching the pilot of Wild Roses, a new CBC drama. It seems like a good show. You can watch full episodes online here.

The casts were pretty good. Calgary and the open spaces in Alberta just look spectacularly beautiful in the show. Now, to be fair, there were some awkward moments in the story telling in the pilot but I hope and think the show will get better. I am definitely looking forward to watching episode 2.

One of the cast member set up a Facebook fan group and you can join if you enjoy and like the show. (Thanks Paul.)

P.S. Here is an excerpt from a Calgary Herald article (note: lots of spoilers info not included in this excerpt),

“There’s a great, big, over-the-top mansion and lots of hottie ranch hands. Everyone is busy screwing everyone — oh, and there’s plenty of sex, too.

CBC is billing the drama as “a Shakespearean tale of two families clashing over land, love and loyalty” set in Calgary and surrounding ranch country, where the series was shot. Still, it’s hard not to think of the ’80s nighttime soap, Dallas.

“When you’re talking about ranches and oil, Dallas obviously comes to mind, ” admits Tassie Cameron, who created the show along with her sister, Amy Cameron, and Wild Roses executive producer Miranda de Pencier.”
