What Kathy Sierra had to go through is terrible to her and unacceptable to the blogosphere (as shown by the many bloggers who posted their views and people who left comments at Kathy’s site in support of her). I hope people’s support (both online and offline) and time will help her get through this.
As a man, I am ashamed that another man (regardless of his age) could write something like that. I hope the offender will be found and discovered soon and punished appropriately for his crime. These crimes without punishment will poison our blogosphere and destroy the sprit of sharing and insights from the many capable women on the blogosphere.
Anonymous crime by anonymous bully & coward against women should not be tolerated. After all, women are our mothers, sisters, girl friends, grandmothers, coworkers, and neighbours. I hope we’ve learned an important lesson from Kathy’s terrible experience.
Kathy, I hope you will get well and feel better soon.

March 27 update: Christopher Locke is a person named in Kathy’s open letter that was involved in the blog where the threats of violence originated. Here is his own denfense which doesn’t apologize for his involvement nor fully condemn those that did. Robert Scoble is not buying Christopher Locke’s defense either.
