Million dollars idea: Your wish = a dollar to charity

My friend Austin Hill (social entrepreneur and philanthropist) has created the Million Dollar Blog Post.

The idea is truly simple. You just leave your wish for the world as a comment on the Million Dollar Blog Post. For each comment, gifter.org is going to have someone donate $1 to charity. Go ahead and leave your wish for the world.

Here is my wish,

My wish for the world is that people in poverty will have better means and tools to bring themselves out of poverty. As the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus (founder of Grameen Bank) has shown us, even loans as small as a few dollars can have the power to change the lives of people in poverty. We now have better means to help people in poverty from around the world.

Austin has explained this interesting and creative idea in more detailed here. When you read Austin’s post, you will see examples of similar (while quite different) efforts. I will try to add my 2 cents later.
Note: So far $3,600 has been raised. Austin’s Project Ojibwe has sponsored 2,500 wishes. And Andy Nulman (a good friend of Austin) has sponsored 1,100 wishes.
