Jaxtr – another free phone service

Read from Matt Marshall that the free phone service Jaxtr adds to a list of existing free phone service like Skype (lets you call from internet but you need a headset) and Jajah (you call from a land-line or mobile phone). By the way, Grand Central gives you a free phone number and a bunch of other services (all very cool and neat), but I don’t think you can make long distance calls for free as Matt seemed to imply.

By the way, I have recently experienced some technical difficulties with calls from Jajah (really poor voice quality or system being so slow that it takes 30+ seconds to call out or failing to call out). [Note: I realize that I promise a review of Jajah's call quality and will do that when I made some more calls.]

By the way, when I experienced those cases Jajah problems, I then used myBlueZebra instead. And I got great voice quality from it. Mind you, as I previously pointed out to the CEO of myBlueZebra, David Freyer, myBlueZebra charges for every call and that makes competing with free calls from Jajah and others a tough exercise. Just my 2 cents.

By the way, as Om Malik reported, LinkedIn co-founder Konstantin Guericke has left LinkedIn (see profile) to join Jaxtr.
