Is there such a thing as “Perfect Beauty“? The Dove brand tries to answer this question with its wonderful “Campaign For Real Beauty” advertising campaign.
Reading the technical analysis done in AdAge and Pete’s blog gave me a perfect excuse to blog about the following insightful and fun to watch video clip which I first watched a few weeks ago. This video has already been viewed over 1 million times. The video still touches me deeply every time I watch it (9 times so far and it works everytime).
I can sympathize with the girls and women that struggle to achieve the impossible ideal image of a perfect woman as presented by the media. The associated US campaignforrealbeauty.com and Canadian campaignforrealbeauty.ca websites seem to be powerful tools. And these sites seem to go much further than simply ads (check out the comments sections). Great job to the creative team of Ogilvy & Mather, Toronto and also its client, the Unilever brand Dove, in taking the risk & giving this wonderful ad campaign a chance.
